These terms apply when online payments is on for your account, alongside the Terms of Service. You accept them in the app before you connect a Stripe account.
Connecting Stripe
Velogics lets you connect your own Stripe account so your customers can pay you through Stripe: your invoices, and deposits or payments you ask for when a customer books with you online. You can open a new Stripe account from Velogics, or connect one you already have. Your Stripe account is yours. Your agreement for payment services is with Stripe, under Stripe's Connected Account Agreement and Stripe Services Agreement, which you accept with Stripe.
What Velogics does
Velogics provides invoicing and booking software. Velogics does not process payments, does not hold, receive or transmit your funds, and is not a party to any transaction between you and your customer. Your customer pays on a page or device run by Stripe, and Stripe pays you directly. Velogics charges no fee on your payments. Stripe's fees are charged to you by Stripe.
You are the seller
You are responsible for your goods and services, your prices, your taxes, your receipts, refunds, chargebacks and disputes, your customer service, and your compliance with consumer protection and other laws, including any right of your customer to cancel.
Payments when customers book
You choose whether a booking asks for payment, how much (a deposit or the full price) and for which services, and you set your own cancellation policy. Velogics shows your policy to your customer before they book and sends the bills and links you set up. Velogics never refunds or keeps a payment on its own: when a paid booking is cancelled, you decide whether to refund it (in your Stripe account, or the way it was paid) or keep it under your policy.
Passing the card fee to customers
If you choose to add a fee to payments made by credit card, you are responsible for following the card networks' rules and the law: telling Stripe and the card networks in writing at least 30 days before you start, charging no more than allowed and no more than your own card costs, showing the fee before your customer pays, offering a way to pay without it, and not charging it where it is not allowed. The fee is yours; Velogics keeps no part of it.
Information
Velogics shares with Stripe what is needed to start a payment, such as the amount, what it is for, and your customer's email address if you have it. Stripe shares payment status with Velogics so your invoices and bookings stay accurate. If you connect a Stripe account you already have, Stripe gives Velogics access to that account: Velogics uses it only to start and record payments for the invoices you send and the bookings you take through Velogics, and ignores everything else on it. You can disconnect Velogics from your Stripe account at any time. Velogics never sees or stores card details. You are responsible for telling your customers how their information is handled, including that it may be processed outside Canada.
Availability
Velogics may pause or end online payments for your account at any time, including if Stripe or a regulator requires it. Your Stripe account and your funds stay with you if it does.
Limits
Velogics is not responsible for Stripe's services, for a payment Stripe declines, holds or reverses, or for your dealings with your customers. You will cover Velogics' losses from claims arising from your sales or your use of Stripe.
